Directed by Bil Morrill On September 11, 2001, when American airspace closed for the first time, thirty-eight planes carrying 7,000 travelers landed on the remote runways of Gander, Newfoundland. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover. With no time to prepare, the people of Gander opened their homes, their hearts, and their lives to these complete strangers, undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers. This Tony award–winning musical unfolds through a propulsive, folk-infused score and a cast of unforgettable real-life characters. A moving story of resilience, Come From Away reminds us that even in the darkest of times, we can choose to open our hearts to one another.
