OUR STAFF

Picture
Executive Director:  Susan Goes

Susan Goes became Executive Director of Cottage Theatre in 2007.  She began her career in the development department of The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and has worked with a variety of arts and nonprofit organizations, in both staff and board capacities.  Among her former positions were Executive Director of Discovery Southeast (Juneau, AK) and Director of Development for VocalEssence (Minneapolis, MN). Susan has been involved in theatre productions since her youth, both onstage and behind-the-scenes. She holds a Masters in Arts Administration from the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College in Minnesota. She has lived in the Cottage Grove area since 1998 and first became involved with Cottage Theatre in 2005. She has appeared on stage in many CT productions over the years. Favorites include Cinderella, Sweeney Todd, The Sound of Music, Chicago, The Spitfire Grill, Willy Wonka, and Seussical.

Administrative Assistant: Alli Minch

Alli Minch joined the Cottage Theatre team in October 2024. Previously, she’s been a high school English and History teacher and college counselor. While a certifiable band and theater enthusiast in her youth, she’s now an obnoxiously proud mom of two recent college graduates and enjoys working behind the scenes. Alli and her family relocated to Cottage Grove in 2017. She holds BAs in English and German.

Assistant Technical Director: John Young

John Young became Assistant Technical Director of Cottage Theatre in December 2024. He has spent his adult life deepening his understanding of stagecraft through theoretical study at the University of Oregon as well as practical experience through years of on-stage productions. Always eager to learn and form new communal bonds, he strives forward with a mission to leave the theatre community stronger than when he found it. He is supported by his ever-patient wife and encouraging family.
