"The joint is jumping" this week as we put the finishing touches on our production of Fiddler on the Roof. With a cast of 45, an orchestra of 12, and another dozen or so crew members, this show will be one of our biggest productions of recent years. You won't want to miss it!
Before there was Fiddler on the Roof (which premiered on Broadway in 1964 and won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1965), there was Tevye and His Daughters. Written in Yiddish by Sholem Aleichem, and first published in 1894, the collection of short stories inspired the creation of Fiddler on the Roof. Our cast has enjoyed hearing excerpts from these stories these last few weeks in rehearsal. Read the latest issue of our newsletter to see a couple of quotations from Tevye and His Daughters (as well as an update on ticket availability). |
