Cottage Theatre announces auditions for Les Misérables

Cottage Grove, OR — Cottage Theatre will hold auditions for Boublil and Schönberg's Les Misérables on Saturday, January 10 at 1:00 pm and Sunday, January 11 at 6:00 pm. Auditions will be held at the theatre, located at 700 Village Drive in Cottage Grove. This epic Broadway musical of survival and redemption is the second production of Cottage Theatre's 2015 season. The show will run for four weekends beginning April 10, 2015.

Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 65 million people worldwide, Les Misérables is a monumental story about the survival of the human spirit. In 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Epic, grand, and uplifting, Les Misérables packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled people all over the world.

A large cast of 30-35 people, both men and women, is needed for this production directed by Alan Beck. Les Misérables will run for 15 performances from April 10 - May 3, 2015.

These auditions are open to any interested actors and no appointment is necessary. Actors are asked to prepare 16+ bars of a song that demonstrates their vocal range. More detailed audition information is available at www.cottagetheatre.org or by calling Cottage Theatre at 541-942-8001.
